I came to Chinese medicine the way most people come to anything that truly changes them — through necessity, a little stubbornness, and eventually, awe.

I used to think acupuncture was
not for me.

Mum had been suggesting it for years. And I just wasn't interested. Needles? No thanks.

Then I got really sick overseas. Like, really sick — two weeks in a Jamaican hospital and lost 20kg kind of sick. The strangest part? Nobody could tell me what was wrong.

Eventually, mum convinced me to try acupuncture. Not just physically — but mentally and emotionally too. My acupuncturist explained things in a way that connected everything. Your body. Your mind. Your emotions. All speaking the same language.

"It felt like putting on glasses for the first time without realising you needed them. Everything just... clicked."

He offered me an apprenticeship. I studied at USC, and took five years to complete a four-year degree — because I wanted to absorb the foundations slowly. This is thousands of years of thinking and philosophy. You can't rush through it.

How I work

The things that matter
in a treatment room

01

I explain everything

You'll always know what I'm doing and why. I translate the ancient stuff into plain language — nature analogies, everyday examples, things that actually land. The penny-drop moment is what I'm working toward in every session.

02

I look for the root

Your sleep, your digestion, your hormones, your stress — they're not separate problems. They're branches of the same tree. I take time to find what's underneath before I do anything, and we work from there.

03

I'll send you elsewhere if I should

Honesty matters more to me than a full appointment book. If you'd be better served by someone else — or by western medicine first — I'll tell you, and I'll point you somewhere I actually trust.

04

I give you something to take home

Every session includes a small, achievable change — a habit, a food, a way of paying attention. The goal is that you understand your body so well you need me less. That's not a sales problem; it's the whole point.

05

I run to time, always

You're paying for a full hour. You get a full hour. I build 15-minute buffers between every client — not to check my phone, but so I'm genuinely present and ready before you walk in the door.

06

Come as you are

No white coat syndrome here. No performing. No need to have done anything to prepare or know anything beforehand. Just show up and be real with me — that's all I need from you.

Training & background

Built on a slow,
deep foundation

I took five years to complete a four-year degree. Deliberately. Chinese medicine is thousands of years of thinking — you don't rush through it. Every extra semester felt like finally getting around to a book I'd been meaning to read for years.

Since graduating I've practised in Kingston & Bellerive, Bluey's Beach in NSW through all of COVID, and now home in Dodges Ferry where I've built the studio I always wanted.

Every place taught me something different about bodies, and about people.

Outside the treatment room

The same curiosity
everywhere else

The thing I love most about Chinese medicine is that it uses the world as its classroom. Why do animals adapt to cold environments the way they do? What does a plant need to survive salt? The same principles apply to the body. It's all connected.

Outside of work I'm usually in the garden, cooking what I grow, hiking something in Tasmania, or on my yoga mat — a long personal practice that keeps me honest about my own body. I'm also about to become a mother, which means every conversation I have about fertility and pregnancy is suddenly a lot more personal.

I live slowly, on purpose. That's the same energy I bring to the clinic.

🌿
Nature as teacher The same forces that shape a tree in a cold climate shape the way your body responds to stress. Chinese medicine taught me to look there first.
🥬
Food as medicine I grow food and cook it — which means I genuinely believe the diet advice I give. Warming foods, cooling foods, seasonal eating. It's not abstract to me.
🧘
Yoga as part of life I've had a long personal yoga practice and I weave meridian theory and Chinese medicine principles into movement — for myself and informally for clients who want it. It keeps me grounded in my own body.
👶
Becoming a mother My clinical sweet spot has always been fertility and pregnancy support. Now I'm living it, which makes me a better practitioner for every client on that path.
